The Plan
THE TURNER TURNAROUND
Doug believes that with dynamic leadership and the right policies, New Mexico’s best days are ahead of us. But to realize that future, we must stop treating our biggest challenges in isolation. Opportunity, education, and public safety are deeply connected, and for too long, our leadership has failed to understand and act on those connections.
Jobs
As a business owner, Doug understands payroll, regulation, competition, and the pressures facing employers. He believes lasting economic growth comes from innovation and hard work in the private sector, not from the government picking winners and losers.
Doug will champion common-sense, pro-growth policies that cut unnecessary red tape, expand access to capital, and actively encourage entrepreneurs to start, grow, and stay here. When people can find good jobs close to home, it reduces desperation and strengthens the community fabric.
Education
A strong K–12 system is the most effective long-term strategy we have for workforce readiness and crime prevention. Our schools must equip young people with skills, confidence, and a sense of purpose.
Doug will fight to ensure high-quality schools that focus on fundamental skills like literacy and math, along with the real-world skills necessary for tomorrow’s workforce. He will implement meaningful parental choice so every parent can find the right educational fit for their child. And Doug will install accountability for outcomes, ensuring our schools are delivering results for students, not just spending taxpayer money.
Public Safety
Doug’s approach to public safety emphasizes prevention alongside strong enforcement of our laws that will actually hold criminals accountable. By connecting this strategy to our economic and educational reforms, we can reduce the conditions that contribute to crime and substance abuse.
New Mexico will expand career pathways in growing sectors like energy, technology, defense, and innovation. This focus on opportunity will help lift communities, retain our best talent, and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone. We cannot separate public safety from economic and educational opportunity, they are two sides of the same coin.
