About Doug

A native New Mexican with deep roots in our communities, Doug Turner is the battle-tested leader our state needs to finally move past the status quo. For decades, New Mexico has been stuck at the bottom of national rankings in education and economic opportunity – a cycle that Doug is uniquely prepared to break through using his experience in the private sector. As the founder of Agenda Global, he has built it into one of the most consequential public affairs firms in the state, providing strategic counsel to local, state, national and international clients. And as a seasoned entrepreneur, he understands how hard it is for small businesses to make payroll and succeed.

Doug hasn’t just watched our economic struggles from the sidelines; he has been in the trenches solving complex issues in New Mexico and on behalf of US interests internationally. Doug understands that we cannot fix the state’s problems with the same approach; it takes a visionary leader who knows our rural counties and our urban centers alike to deliver the results we’ve been waiting for.

New Mexico’s path to the top starts with accountability, and Doug’s record shows he isn't afraid to demand it. He spent eight years as Chairman of the New Mexico Judicial Standards Commission, fighting for integrity in our courts, and nearly fifteen years as Board Chairman of Public Charter Schools of New Mexico, where he championed the idea that parents and kids deserve the best education they can get and have the right to choose the schools they attend.

Doug knows that real change only happens when a leader is willing to challenge the system. A life-long Republican, he’s running for Governor in 2026 because he’s tired of seeing New Mexico settle for 50th place while our families struggle with rising crime and a stagnant economy. Doug offers more than a platform; he offers energy and the experienced, common-sense leadership necessary to build a New Mexico where our children can afford to stay, work, and thrive.

Finally, and most important to Doug, he’s a family man. He and his late wife, Mala, raised their three kids here in New Mexico.
